I have seen so many comments like this. I am very glad to hear this kind of comments. Today, I share why my website loads faster and how this can be applied to yours.

Cloudflare

My website performance has been significantly improving since I start using cloudflare service. So what is cloudflare?

Cloudflare is one of the world’s largest networks. Today, businesses, non-profits, bloggers, and anyone with an Internet presence boast faster, more secure websites and apps thanks to Cloudflare.

But I explain benefits of using cloudflare for you in a nutshell.

Caching function (Reduce loads and improve speed)

One of the most important functions of Cloudflare is the caching function. If you compare “no caching” with “caching”, you see the difference. You can imagine that you access Taka’s website like now and if you don’t have caching service, you directly access my website. So my website needs to handle your access and other people too. But caching (Cloudflare) can be proxy.

If you access my website for the first time

If you access my website for the first time, you directly access my website even though there is a cache between you and my website. This is the left person in the right pic.

From the second access

But from the second access, you don’t access my website directly. you access a cache(Cloudflare) instead.

This function is called caching and very common technique to use. A cache has a copy of website and you access copy of my website.

It reduce the loads for website and make loading time faster.

You can see the result of cache in Oct 2020. Total Bandwidth(how much data used ) is 65.6GB and Cache Bandwidth is 44.6GB. Uncached Bandwidth is 20.9GB (how much data my website used). So Cloudflare cache handles more data than my website does. You can tell how great this function is.

Speed improvement

You can see that if you place Cloudflare, it brings so much improvements of speed.

Security improvement

The second reason why I use Cloudflare is that it helps my website more secure. There are mainly 3 reasons for that.

1:SSL/TLS protection

First of all, SSL/TLS protection is must for the website. I am a security engineer and this cannot be emphasized enough.

My website is full encrypted and alway use HTTPS(secure).

What is more, you need to use HTTPS to get a good SEO in Google search.

2: Threats protection

You can see how many threats come to my websites. It can be protected by Cloudflare too.

3:Firewall

You can see how much security challenges can be solved by firewall. This is also one of the benefits of Cloudflare.

Summary
